Quant Economics provides expert economic analysis for litigation and
related disputes. Our work is distinguished by superior analytics coupled
with clear communication. We provide services in a variety of litigation
areas including intellectual property and technology, antitrust and unfair competition, and other commercial litigation.
Quant Economics utilizes qualitative investigation and quantitative
techniques to evaluate competitive issues and measure economic damages.
This often involves recasting the companies and markets involved to reflect
the absence of alleged conduct such as patent infringement or unfair
competition. Actual economic performance of sales, prices, costs, and
profits can then be contrasted with the economic performance that would
have prevailed but for the alleged conduct, thereby quantifying the effect of
the conduct. Similarly, we use established economic techniques to accurately determine reasonable royalty rates in patent infringement litigation.
Superior analytics alone are not sufficient in a litigation setting. Effective
communication often requires detailed reports that carefully articulate our
methodology and results with charts, tables, and concise exposition. At
trial, we combine lucid speech with demonstrative exhibits to successfully
communicate to judge and jury. In addition to providing economic analysis
in a testifying capacity, Quant Economics also provides support as
consulting experts. In this role we focus on discovery and critical
analyses to facilitate dispute resolution.
